Yogyakarta Day 1

So sorry I have abandoned this blog for so long!

Last two months I was decided to take up my backpack and go! Since I have to clear my leaves. After check all the flights tix and destination, asking for travel kaki, unmatched timing unmatched destination, lastly YOGYAKARTA! alone.

Call up Gin & Rizka, friends that I have met during Korea Student Exchange, and getting so excited to visit the place.

See, for the very first time I do not have to arrange my itinerary and check out the map. #feelingblessed

Day 1

#1 My first picture on the trip. This is the view of 5 minutes before the plane was landing.

Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport (JOG) is located at the middle of the city, its not spacious and located like isolated area ie LCCT to KL town takes 1 hour drive. So its very convenience to get to the town and the nearest famous spot you can go is Prambanan Temple.

#2 "Prambanan’s status as one of the most extraordinary pieces of South East Asian religious architecture was recognised by a UNESCO in 1991 when it named this complex a World Heritage Site. "   from Borobudurpark.com

#3 Rizka & I. That day was considered a good day because it was weekday, not too much tourist & the weather was just nice to explore around!

Originally it were 204 temples a the surrounding, but major of it has devastated. And from the picture you can see the temples that did not survived were just placed around.

#4 It was located in big park and the Hindu temple was at the middle of it.

#5 Us!

#6 Was putting on safety helmet cus the temple was destroyed in 2006 Java Earthquake, and even now its reopened for tourist, safety always come first.

#7 I believe Yogya Prambanan Temple & Borobudur are not losing to Angkor Wat in Cambodia in term of its architectural and historical. :) I was getting impressed again and again throughout the trip.

#8 Photo from Gin, always heart his photoshooting. :)

#9 Architecture buildings are always impressive isn't it? It proved and showed us what it was before we were born, reminding us the world changed rapidly and what we are today.

#10 One of my favourite photos. I have the best tourguides in the town!

Felt so thankful for their hospitality and Rizka accommodated me at her house! Much much more comfortable than staying in hotel. :DD

#11 Oh before I forget it also has deer park in the temple complex. The doe.

#12 And the buck.

#13 Looked like Santa's deer isn't it? Merry Christmas to those who are reading it on xmas day!#hohoho

#14 Its dinner time! At The House of Raminten.

#15 Rizka & Gin bought me to this famous restaurant in Yogya to try out the local delicacy. It was fulled on that night and this was all the customers in the waiting list. I like the way they put their customer relaxing while waiting.

#16 The philosophy from the founder, "Hidup adalah bekerja." Agree? :D

#17 The ambience of the restaurant was really good, it is a good place to relax and enjoy the local foods.

#18 The waitress and waiter were in traditional dress to serve.

#19 My nasi goreng ops i forget its name.

#20 Rizka's

#21 Tried to capture the whole, this is the best I could get due to tiredness and jet lack of 1 hour. #excuseforpoorphoto :P

Review of The House of Raminten from tripadvisor.com.

If you are looking for a trip to live like local, try this restaurant!

#22 My favourite drink of the day! #Lunch #BananaJuice! Yummyyyyyyyyy

#23 Oh ya my lunch of the day. Actually Indonesian foods has not much difference from Malaysian, but some of it is real unique which I will story more on next post!

Star Cruise to Jeju-do

Early in the morning, we took a cab from our motel to Mokpo Ferry Terminal. Miao & Sq were queuing to redeem our ticket where we made the booking through online earlier.

#1 At the ticket counter.

#2 Our ticket! 30 000 won per way which approximate RM90. It took around 4 hours to reach.
423 is our room number.

#3 Our ferry?? It is STAR CRUISE. At early I was complaining rm90 was tooooo expensive for a ferry, but when I saw the STAR CRUISE written on the ship, I felt better. Too good in comforting myself. XD

#4 Were looking for our room!

#5 Our shared room. It is just a room with tv supply. You can see our bags were the one under the TV.
Sorry Ajasi I don't mean to capture you but the room. ><

#6 A boy were captured playing with Teddy bear. He were trying to put his keys into the Teddy's pocket! LOL

My review: Overall it was good experience, nice people good environment clean toilet. I believe with good sunny day we could take more pic. Heee Raining day caused the reaching time slightly delayed. Anyhow we reached safely.

Besides by ferry, you can take Jeju-Air to transfer to Jeju-do. As I heard from my friends who coming from Incheon Airport, Seoul. The Jeju-Air was giving them good experience as the crews were playing Rock Scissor Paper game with the passengers on board. They had some fun!

For people who have travelling sickness like me do prepare your own medicine if you have one.

At Mokpo - For the ferry transfer to Jeju

Sorry for the long update! :D

Previously I was posting about Busan & Jeju Island for my travelling experiences, some of my friends were curious how should they travel to Jeju from Busan?

Except by flight from Busan Airport, you may also go by bus + ferry. :D

After my trip at Busan, I took bus from Busan to Mokpo in oder to go to Jeju-Do. Mokpo 목포 is a city in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. You may refer to the map below for geographical idea.

#1

From (1) Busan take bus to (2) Mokpo for 6 hours and from Mokpo take ferry to (3) Jeju island for 4 hours.

#2 Ready to go.

If you are backpacking all the way down, you may overnight one day at Mokpo for a break & take the ferry the next morning. So, what to do at Mokpo?

When I first reached at the bus station, the tourist information was really helpful. You may also use the public computer to online for some information, of course you need to feed it with token. There was locker to leave your stuff while you hanging around.

The most interesting place I have visited at Mokpo was the dancing sea fountain at the ocean. You may spend some of your time there and there was Lotte department store nearby. It took around 15-20 minutes from the musical water fountain to the bus station, if you can read the map, it was really easy to reach there without catching a cab and save some penny. There was no public bus could reach that area which was told by the nuna at the tourist information. If you want to save some money, then walk. But i think it will not be expensive to take a cab perhaps around 5-7,000 won?

Thanks god, it was no raining at the evening when I reached. While waiting for my friends coming from Yeosu & Seoul, I decided to keep my bagpack at the locker & explore the city.

#3 I was trying to snap some landmark so that if anything happened to me (touchwood), people can investigate from the clue. Yes this was in my mind whenever I was travelling alone :P

#4 So I studied the map correctly & I reached my destination, the Peace Park 평화광장! Its okay it took some times, because that was the time that takes your patience & courages. There is no IMPOSSIBLE but only I M POSSIBLE. :D

So lucky for a sunset view at the late evening.

#5 Was snapping around while waiting for the Dancing Sea Fountain show.

 #6

#7 It's just like our taman for relaxing & you can see korean bringing out their family for evening walk.

#8 And also Korean can just picnic anywhere, sit down chit chat & makan makan. That was one of the part I like about korean. ;)

#9 My only face in this post. HAHAH

#11 Too like to snap on my foot & legs for no reason. :P

#12 The Mokpo icon, Gatbawi
- a pair of rock formations which caused by erosion , named for its resemblance to a man wearing a gat, a traditional cylindrical Korean hat.

#13 When the night came, the audience seat was slowly filling up.

#14 The show!

#15 At the sea.

#16 The Dancing Sea Fountain was free & the show was just too good for its price!

#17 It was a beautiful marriage proposal water fountain & laser show.

#18 Manage to catch a few good pictures before my camera battery dead.

#19 There were 2 times of the the show EVERYDAY.

#20 End of the show, I don't know who to thanks, but only could clap loudly for the good show. :D

This was only a short trip of mine at Mokpo. You can check here for more Mokpo attractions like boat cruise & museum. Next post Im gonna blog about the five star cruise to Jeju yay! Tada!
